Two Goalkeepers who have Saved Bruno Fernandes’ Penalties

In his professional football career, Bruo Fernandes has stepped up for 24 penalties for different clubs, and only missed two of them.

He first missed a penalty kick on 3rd April 2016 while playing for Serie A side, Udinese.

Udinese was playing against Napoli when they were awarded a spot kick in the 27th minute of the match while the score line was still at 1-1.

Then Napoli‘s goalkeeper, Gabriel, saved his first penalty. Udinese fortunately won the match with 3 goals to 1.

On 20th October 2018, his second penalty was saved. He was then playing for Sporting CP.

The scoreline was at 0 – 1 with Sporting leading against GS Loures. GS Loures’ keeper, Miguel Soares saved the 50th minuted penalty.

The match ended at 2 – 1 with Sporting CP on the winning side.

Bruno Fernandes is among few football players with special ‘hop, skip and jump’ before shooting penalty taking technique.

Chelsea’s Jorginho is also known for using the same skills for most of his penalties.

Another footballer known for this skill is is Atalanta’s striker, Josef Martinez.

Fernandes, Jorginho and Martinez deceive the goalkeeper with their jump, making the keeper to make a swift move thinking they have already taken the shot.

On realizing the keeper has moved, the calmly place the ball to the opposite direction with keeper.
