Postmortem on deceased Ruto’s Guard Reveals Fresh Details

A post-mortem carried out on the body of  Sergeant Kipyegon Kene has this afternoon, 26th Feb, been released.

The officer was attached to DP William Ruto’s office, and was expected to record a statement over the fraud case, where Sh40 billion fake arms deal investigation involving former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa and three others is ongoing.

Unfortunately, the officer was found dead before recording a statement.

Government pathologist, Johansen Oduor, while addressing the press this Wednesday, revealed that the body of the deceased was found about one or two days after his death.

He said the officer died due to gunshot wound, where the gun was fired at his chin and exited though his forehead, adding that there were no other signs or rather wounds, that were discovered on his body.

The report further revealed that that there were no signs of struggle prio to his death discovered.

However, it is yet not clear whether his sudden death was homicide or suicide.

DCI has been making a follow up over his sudden death to find out if it is related to the fraud case.

Kene was among the officers who were on duty when Echesa visited DP Ruto’s office, where he held a meeting that last for at least 23 minutes.
